Hey everyone,
I'm back from Thanksgiving break and bursting at the seams. It's hard to believe that we only have 2 more weeks left until winter break. These will, by no means, be boring weeks however. The two busiest times of the semester are definitly the 5-7th week of classes and the last two. The first is when things start to be due and the latter is when everything is closing up for the semester. This is not just in the classroom. Clubs and organizations are also winding down and putting on thier big, end of the semester prgrams. This brings me to the point of my entry.
Today I have a full plate. I have a presentation in my Psychology of Religion class that I've been workin on for about three weeks now. Afterwards I have the Founders Society Deans in Jeans gathering. This one of the most interesting concepts for a organization that I have heard of. We are gathering people form all over campus; from department heads to the president of the college, to come together in the International Commons to have casual conversation with the students of the school. It is going to be an amazing time for everyone there as students will be able to voice concerns and ideas to the people heading to school and the administrative positions on campus will be able to hear the concerns of the students first-hand. This program is a perfect representation of the closeness of the college as a whole. It is not unlike professors, staff, administration, or priests to be all over campus interacting with the students here. It really expresses the community that we at SMC hold so dear to us. Deans in Jeans tonight will be just like any other day only the interactions will be confined to a much smaller area. I am really looking forward to seeing it all in action!
See ya,
Nick
