I need to start getting to Burlington International earlier. Not to make sure I'm at my flight on time, but to make sure I have enough time to write while I'm waiting for my flight. I wrote this yesterday a.m. at a much more civilized time than the 5:40 a.m. entry:
Well, back here at BTV, Gate 8 on my way down to Dulles for a college fairs in Richmond, DC and Baltimore this week. It's a gray and rainy day here in VT, but that's actually a good thing. It's been odd that the rivers and Lake Champlain have all been at flood stage, but everywhere else is rather dry. We've really been spoiled this Spring with brilliant weather. It has been over 70 degrees and sunny for two weeks straight. It threatened to rain on Saturday, for P-Day, but the students lucked out again with sunny skies.
P-Day, you're probably wondering what that is. P-Day is one of the oldest traditions here at Saint Michael's. It's officially known as Preparation Day. It is usually the Saturday before the last day of classes. Over the years, it's evolved into a Spring fair, essentially. The Student Association (Student Government) sponsors the day and they bring in food vendors, inflatables (this year there was an inflatable rock climbing wall, jousting, and (the coolest of all) a ride that simulated sky diving! Dave wrote about it in his blog, so check it out for more on that.)
